Following a record-breaking sellout, Indiana’s largest marathon weekend will welcome participants from all 50 states and more than 35 countries on November 7.

INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The streets of Indianapolis will come alive Saturday, Nov. 7, as thousands of runners, walkers and spectators gather for the 19th annual CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon. Following the earliest sellout in event history, the 2026 event will welcome participants from all 50 states and more than 35 countries for a monumental celebration of running, health and community.

“Celebrating our 14th consecutive sellout, and our earliest ever, is a testament to the incredible enthusiasm and support surrounding Monumental Marathon weekend,” said Jed Cornforth, President & CEO of Beyond Monumental. “Every participant brings their own story and goals to the start line, and our community comes together to make those moments even more meaningful. We’re excited to welcome runners and walkers from around the world and showcase the very best of Indianapolis.”

CNO Financial Group celebrates community and wellness

As title sponsor of the event since 2016, CNO Financial Group continues to play an integral role in bringing the Monumental Marathon weekend to life. This year, more than 300 CNO associates and guests will participate across the three races and volunteer throughout the weekend.

The company’s involvement reflects a shared commitment with Beyond Monumental to promoting health and well-being throughout the Indianapolis community. Earlier this year, CNO extended its title sponsorship through 2028, continuing a partnership that has helped the event grow into one of the nation’s largest marathons.

“We’re excited to once again welcome participants, volunteers and fans from across the world to Indianapolis for what has become such a special weekend for the community,” said Rocco Tarasi, Chief Marketing Officer, CNO Financial Group, and Beyond Monumental board member. “Now in our 11th year as title sponsor, CNO is proud to continue our partnership with Beyond Monumental and our commitment to the health and well-being of central Indiana. We look forward to celebrating another monumental race weekend and returning for its 20th running next year.”

A weekend of running and celebration

Race weekend festivities begin with the Monumental Health & Fitness Expo on Thursday, Nov. 5, and Friday, Nov. 6, in Halls A and B of the Indiana Convention Center. Free and open to the public, the two-day expo will feature more than 50 vendors, official Brooks Running merchandise, interactive sponsor experiences and opportunities for participants and spectators to connect ahead of race day.

On Saturday, Nov. 7, participants will take to the streets of Indianapolis across the marathon, half marathon and 5K distances. The courses will showcase iconic Indianapolis landmarks and historic neighborhoods, with thousands of spectators expected to cheer participants toward the finish line.

Elite competition and special guest Emma Grace Hurley

The 2026 race weekend will welcome Indianapolis-based professional runner and Monumental Half Marathon course record holder Emma Grace Hurley as a special guest, fresh off a historic marathon debut at the Chicago Marathon. Hurley finished as the top American woman in 2:20:47, setting a new American marathon debut record. Her performance follows a fifth-place finish at the 2026 World Athletics Road Running Championships, where she helped Team USA earn a silver medal in the half marathon.

Hurley will participate in race weekend festivities, including an appearance at the Monumental Health & Fitness Expo on Friday and race-day celebrations Saturday.

The event will also feature competitive elite fields chasing course records and qualifying times for the 2028 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Marathon. With prize money and additional qualifying bonuses on the line, Indianapolis’ fast, flat courses will once again set the stage for exciting competition.

More than a race

Beyond the competition, Monumental Marathon weekend reflects a shared commitment to creating opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to experience the benefits of movement.

Through year-round programming, including the Apex Benefits Monumental Kids Movement presented by IU Indianapolis, Beyond Monumental works to inspire healthy lifestyles and expand access to running and walking throughout the Indianapolis community.

All three race distances are officially sold out, and waitlists are now closed. Community members can still be part of the excitement by volunteering, cheering along the course or supporting participants throughout race weekend. For more information, please visit monumentalmarathon.com.
