Chandler CPA firm brings homebuilder finance experience to job costing, WIP tracking, and bookkeeping for contractors and skilled trades companies in the East Valley.
Chandler, AZ (PRUnderground) August 17th, 2026

Jackrabbit Accounting, a CPA-led accounting firm based in Chandler, Arizona, has expanded its bookkeeping and advisory services for construction companies and skilled trades businesses across the East Valley and Greater Phoenix. The firm provides construction job costing, work-in-progress tracking, progress billing support, and monthly bookkeeping for general contractors, custom home builders, remodelers, electricians, plumbers, and HVAC companies.
The expansion draws on founder Sean Larsen’s background in homebuilding finance. Before starting Jackrabbit Accounting, Larsen served as Director of Finance for a division of a homebuilder and as Controller at another large homebuilding company, where he analyzed job costs, managed budgets, and tracked production across entire divisions.
“The numbers that matter to a contractor live at the job level,” Larsen said. “Company-wide financials can look healthy while individual projects lose money. We track labor, materials, and subcontractor costs by project, so an owner knows the true margin on every job and can bid the next one with real data instead of guesswork.”
The firm’s construction and trades services include job costing setup and maintenance in QuickBooks Online, work-in-progress reporting, subcontractor payment tracking with W-9 collection and 1099 preparation, catch-up bookkeeping for businesses with a backlog, and budgeting and cash flow forecasting. Businesses that need a higher level of financial oversight can add external controller or fractional CFO support on a project or ongoing basis.
Continued residential and commercial development across the East Valley and Pinal County has brought steady work to contractors and trades businesses in communities such as Chandler, Gilbert, Queen Creek, Maricopa, and Florence. Jackrabbit Accounting works with construction and trades businesses typically generating between $50,000 and several million dollars in annual revenue, companies established enough to need professional bookkeeping but not large enough to justify a full accounting department.
“I spent years inside homebuilding operations, and the strongest builders all had one thing in common: they knew their job costs cold,” Larsen said. “A five-person plumbing company deserves the same discipline. When the books show what each job actually costs in labor, materials, and subs, owners price their work correctly and keep more of what they earn.”
Larsen holds a CPA license in Arizona and an MBA, and is a certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor. He began his career as an auditor at a Big 4 public accounting firm, working with clients ranging from local real estate portfolio owners to Fortune 500 companies.
Jackrabbit Accounting operates on a month-to-month basis with no long-term contracts and maintains a 24-hour response time on business days. Construction and trades business owners in Chandler, the East Valley, or Greater Phoenix can request a consultation through the firm’s website or by phone.
